Iacobus
I wanted to go to the late Mass at 5pm yesterday because my house to hot and I have trouble getting to sleep so I almost always oversleep. I was getting ready to go and my dad asked if I would go to the Sunday Morning Mass and take his friend. I said okay without thinking. Than I thought about it but I had already promised my dad I would go to Sunday Mass. I sleep through my alarm this morning and didn't wake up until about noon. So in a state of panic I got online and started to check the parishs for a late Sunday Mass in the afternoon or evening. There were a ton of Masses in Rockford at 5ish. So I was okay pretty sure I could go to one of those Masses. I told my mum (I am the only praticing Catholic in my family) and she said I could NOT go to one of those Masses because we have a family reunion about 2 hours from here at 4. I tried to explain to her that Mass was a more important thing than a family reunion but she refuses to listen/understand. Now I am getting in trouble for getting upset with my parents for their refusal to listen. I really wanted to get to Mass, I went to Confession yesterday and was all ready and happy and so on. I tried to obey my parents which by accdient lead to me sleep through my alarm. And now they won't let me go to one of the Masses I can go to. And they want me to talk to Father about my "angery" issue that was shown today when they refused to let me go to Mass. So my question is, am I commiting a mortal sin in not being able to get to Mass today? I want to but I am being prevented by my parents. So that takes away intent right?
