Francis Coffee
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity feature St. Paul’s Nativity Parish’s Musicians performing “Shelter Me: A Prayer-Song in the Time of the Covid-19 Pandemic” https://fscc-calledtobe.org/2020/05/22/twin-cities-catholic-musicians-spiritu-featured-at-franciscan-news/ Spiritu’s recordings “grew out of years of music provided for liturgies at Nativity of Our Lord in Saint Paul, Minnesota. These recordings capture some of our favorites. Offering our music at hundreds of Sunday Masses, weddings, funerals, prayer services, retreats, and other events is a privilege and a joy.” https://nativitystpaul.org/ Michael Joncas, the St. Paul priest, theologian and prolific composer of liturgical music including “On Eagle’s Wings,” wrote and published this new song in spring 2020 in response to the global shared experience of COVID-19. Members of Spiritu recorded it from the shelter of our homes. In this dark and difficult time, we wish you the shelter of God’s peace. Since 1869, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity have served in Catholic Health Care, Education, Campus Ministry and Parish-Community Service throughout the United States. From Missions on Dioceses in Arizona, to the Dioceses of Lincoln and Omaha; from Columbus and Steubenville, to Mississippi, and Wisconsin and Michigan. Recently, Discerning women have been joining us from Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina and Texas. Our outreach includes vocation conversation visits to all discerners in the Upper Midwest and our Mission sites. God Calls You.
