(Pompous intonation is a good sign for conspiration theories as well.)

I was thinking about that for a while. It came to my mind that the the most pompous thing is probably to speak about Christianity ("Christian values", Church etc) without referring to Christ... because it seems to be impossible to speak of Christ in a pompous way. Hence, any Christian who wishes not to sound pompous should refer to Him as much as possible. This is probably Bishop Schneider in his interviews does not sound pompous.

This is something that troubles me in many Christian exchanges: not referring to Him.

TBH I probably am. I do appreciate the concern. Also Dust changed my religion to Non-Denominational so I can nolonger post images.

it says Catholic to me.

I like you Josh. Please stop following Mark Shea tho, and try not to pay attention to the other "papist celebrities" on twitter. It doesn't seem to be doing good for you.

Have you ever heard of Matt Fradd. I think he leans a little bit conservative (he's Eastern rite), but I think you'd like him, talks to all sorts of people but I've never seen him be disrespectful. And he has a soothing Australian accent. Leah Libresco (I hope I'm spelling it right), Trent Horn, Ascension Presents. Those are some people/things I've come across and have found edifying.

No. Mark is my friend. I get if you don't like his demeanor or whatever else. But he helps the poor in Africa and he speaks the truth against things I HATE. I despise racism in the Church. You guys can say I'm fake woke or whatever else. I don't care. There is toxic racism in the Church. I've seen it up close and so has Mark. I get what you're saying but it's something we won't agree on. He calls out the things I hate with clarity and yes he does go crazy. He gives it the same energy that the guys on the other side spew it out. Patrick Coffin ECT. Except Mark is right. Is it sinful how angry he gets? Probably. But I understand why it happens.

Yeah he's cool. He winks at the things I hate though. He doesn't call Tim out because they're friends. He never speaks on racism ECT. I'm not talking trash about him. I will watch a show here and there. It's just all the same with these guys though. Again God bless Matt. No judgement.

Trent Horn

Same thing with Trent. I don't mind listening to him everyonce in awhile. I actually called in once when he was on the radio and thanked him when he said marijuana wasn't a sin for an adult in moderation lol I am glad you like these guys. They're definitely cool. They're not on air defending confederate monuments like relevant radio.

Mark is your friend? Like you know him?

I think it's a stretch to say he's right. Kind of a blanket statement. He may be right on somethings sure, but every time you post his stuff it is so full of vitriol. I admit I don't know much else about him other than the stuff I've seen you post here.

But I wasn't trying to tell you what to do. Maybe a suggestion. Just going off your posts here.

try to keep your eye on your motivation and end goals, I would say.  careful not to get yourself too sucked into the vitriol of the debates that seem to be attracting your attention lately.  you want to root out racism from the church?  heck yeah, sign me up.  it is repugnant and has no place in the Church.

however, it's easy to fall in the trap of lumping together everything outside your experience and dumping on it all.  there is nothing inherent to the traditional latin mass or traditional Catholicism, for instance, that would make people racist.  it may be that the fringe status of that movement attracts other fringe ideologies, but then what is your goal?  is it to destroy the traditionalist movement?  or to make sure that we get rid of any racism that enters into the traditional movement (which would, in turn, make the traditionalist movement stronger in a way)?  you may not agree with people who think the traditional latin mass ought to be the norm, but that is a separate issue from rooting out racism, be careful not to use the anti-racism angle as a club to try to beat out people when they argue other points.  if your goal is to get rid of racism, then your end goal should picture that we'd have the people arguing for the TLM and the people arguing for the Novus Ordo both having no tinge of racism.  (I'm not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing with which people you've pointed to as being racist, this is just taking your premise for granted) try to argue each point separately on its merits.  that's my advice, anyway.  try not to make everything a zero-sum game.  it is very sad when arguments within the Church become zero sum games.  if you're arguing with a fellow (Catholic) Christian, you should have as a goal a positive sum game where both of you are brought to a more ideal state of worshiping our Lord and living a positive Christian life.

as a side note, I think it'd be pretty cool if Cardinal Sarah was the next pope.  imagine if he was the first pope in 50 years to say the Traditional Latin Mass as Pope?  but even if not, he has some sound liturgical and doctrinal instincts that I would like to see.

I don't. He defends everything that the Church teaches in 2020. Let's face it that's a problem for a bunch of Catholics. The Death Penalty is a great example. Or something that shouldn't be trivial at all like locking kids up in cages. Tons of Catholics oppose the Church teachings who you wouldn't expect to. These are Catholics who like to assume the role of the most devout and devoted. Yet they are picking and choosing what they accept.

I sorta get what you're saying but then again I'm kinda like meh. This is a forum. To you it seems sharing twitter convos is a no no and conveighs craziness and insanity. Not that I lack either but I don't see it as a big deal. Especially when the screenshots are relevant to the conversation and what is being discussed.

I want to agree with this. I really do. But then you have the Tan Book company example. They are a large tradionalist company printing material that is white supremcy. They are blatantly attacking the entire black race. Then I see the same things in trads I encounter with large followings and their members. Them using the n word and things like that. I realize this isn't all trads. But I don't know if I'm convinced it's just the fringe.

I don't think I have any direct goals for the traditionalist movement. Definitely getting rid of racism would be great. And like you say we both share that goal 100 percent. Also I'm not a complete idiot who things the racism just disappears once you're at a non Latin Mass. Nor do I think everyone at a Latin Mass holds bigoted views. Although there's definitely a problem there. I don't want the movent destroyed. I'm about personal freedom and freedom of religion. And I'm open to trying out the Latin Mass. As long as it's not cultish with people telling me how to dress or that my wife has to cover her head ect. I don't have a wife but using that as an example. And as long as I'm not expected to believe the New Mass is evil or receiving in the hand is of Satan. As long as those things aren't part of the sign up deal then going to Latin Mass is something I would like to try. I'm not sure if would be my thing in the long run. Maybe it would. I know I would like the incense. I don't think I would like the Latin. Im almost certain I would respect it and appreciate it.

If the Church said the Latin Mass was the norm tommorow I would say okay. I would hope it's only like an hour long. But yeah I wouldn't freak out. I would accept it. As of right now I'm not Protestant. No offense to trads but a bunch of them come off as Protestants. And not the good kind. The Anti Catholic the Pope is 666 kind.

Good advice. I agree.

I would love the optics of having a Black Pope. We need it. Cardinal Sarah seems extreme to me on different things but I would be okay with that. It's not like Pope Francis isn't extreme. Although if Cardinal Burke became Pope I would honestly beg for everyone's prayers that I could remain Catholic. It would push me to the brink. Probably the way Francis has pushed trads to the brink.
