Guest
He says that if you can't go to an FSSP or SSPX Mass you don't need to fulfill your Sunday Obligation and can stay home. Another reason I thank God I'm not a Trad. The white supremcy stuff is bad enough but this is horrible advice from a Bishop that the Best Catholics of All Time put on a pedestal...And people complain about Cardinal Barron? Last I checked Barron doesn't tell people not to fulfill their Sunday Obligation. 10 minutes ago, Delivery said: And people complain about Cardinal Barron? *Bishop Edited April 17, 2020 by Guest

KnightofChrist
Most dioceses in the United States, save one that I'm aware of, have all ceased public Mass so how are we going to fulfill your Sunday obligation to go to Mass? Where the 'heck' has Bishop Schneider stated anything white supremacist?

KoC peace to you brother. You don't have to fulfill your Sunday Obligation by going to Mass when the Church is closed because of a pandemic and your Bishop dispensed you of the obligation. I know you're too smart not to know that. Listening to that audio was troubling. He's telling people not to go to Mass if it isn't SSPX or FSSP. To stay home instead. This is who Trads put on a pedestal and listen to? Scary. I should of clarified in the original post this is nothing to do with the Corona virus. These comments from the Bishop were before the pandemic. He's saying in general you don't have to go to Mass if you can't make it to SSPX or FSSP. Nor can I trust 'some dude' on Twitter who doesn't like the Bishop. I'll try to find it.
Guest
That's Skojec posting the video. You know the owner of Peter One Five. The Bishop writes articles for him or did. And does interviews with Taylor. They should start their own religion already. (Maybe they have)

He just condemned all forms of racism around the 10 min mark. Stating we are all children of Adam and Eve.
Guest
Around 36 mark it starts. And the white supremcy comment wasn't directed at him. More towards Trads in general. The Taylor and Tim types. And Tan Publishing types. 35:43 is when the question is asked by the interviewer. Edited April 18, 2020 by Guest

More towards Trads in general. The Taylor and Tim types. Trads in general are not white supremacists. You're just bitter and angry. And listening to his actual words, it takes a BIG leap and a prejudged prejudice opinion of him, to adopt your interpretation of those words. He doesn't state don't go to the New Mass but to avoid masses with great abuses, hersey, and too much mixing of Protestant beliefs or services more like "Pentecostal services". What's the timestamp for the FSSP or SSPX only comment?
Guest
I already gave you the timestamp. He literally says you can stay home if you can't make it to a SSPX or FSSP. And to travel great distances to go there. And make it when you can. Like every other week or once a month. What happened to Sunday Obligation and missing Mass being a Mortal Sin? So now Catholics can just decide all the new Masses are full of abuses and stay home? And just travel great distances when they can to SSPX or FSSP? You got to be kidding me haha I'm done going back and forth with you. It's literally like speaking to someone in a cult. No where after the 36min timestamp does he even mention the FSSP or the SSPX. He does say travel great distances to find a Holy Mass (to avoid abusive Masses) but doesn't distinguish the OF or EF when referring to a Holy Mass. Nor does he really say you can just stay home as you originally stated.

Last I checked Barron doesn't tell people not to fulfill their Sunday Obligation. Please stop saying these kinds of things. I’ve seen you post like this before. I’m aware, as I’m sure that others are also, that there are some bad apples amongst trads. I personally love the Latin Mass and the more “traditional” expressions of the faith but I have regularly agreed with you that racism is evil and a grave sin. I am right there with you condemning any racist, sexist, or otherwise uncharitable attitudes found in trad circles. That being said, you continue to lump us all together and it’s not only frustrating and hurtful, but falls into a similar category as the racism you’re condemning. You are stereotyping an entire group. I haven’t even gotten around to watching the video yet but if it had anything to do with racism, your comment might be relevant. However, based on this thread, the topic of the debate is about the Sunday obligation and form of the Mass so using this opportunity to get in a dig at trads for being alleged white supremacists was uncalled for. I apologise. I agree with you. I didn't need to add that in there. I have no problem with the Latin Mass. My problem is with The Best Catholics of All Time. I actually hope to attend Latin Mass sometime. And then maybe again and again. I have no problem with Tradition. But seriously a majority of the Trads I run into online are racist. Granted it's all online encounters. And then there are Trads (if that's how you identify) like yourself who are not. And I've met others online who are not. But man the majority are just over the top. I'm guessing in real life it's not as bad. Or I would hope not. But it's definitely prevalent. The Tan Book issue is a prime example and evidence of it. That issue is so extreme and wrong. It's mind blowing. But you're right and I do agree with the point you made so my bad. Peace. Guest
Not long ago, I looked up the Twitter follow lists of Marshall and Gordon, along with those of Michael Voris, the head of ultra-orthodox media outlet Church Militant, and OnePeterFive writers Steve Skojec and Stefanie Nicholas. These are members of what Washington Post writer Michelle Boorstein calls “an influential and tightly knit conservative Catholic digital media network.” They also identify as “traditionalists,” or "trads," devotees of the Traditional Latin Mass, fans of veils on women at church, and vociferous critics of Pope Francis and what they see as the modernist destruction of the Catholic Church. Who do these people listen to? I wondered. What is their media diet? https://sojo.net/articles/webs-connecting-traditionalist-catholics-and-white-nationalists?fbclid=IwAR0HW8zipn7M1731TiTDRRtUoJ-Qc0-dmWrT6A5eQMft_2lSjur_Yuvybqc Edited April 18, 2020 by Guest
KnightofChrist
The book printed by TAN, I believe that accusation, I could see the proof with my own eyes. But the others I don't just believe because I don't trust you anymore. You outright lied, and now you're trying to continue on as if you didn't. The Bishop did not say what you accused him of saying. Start another thread to continue your accusations against others. But you owe the Bishop a public apology in this thread.
