BurkeFan
A good Catholic scriptural reference site, which I suspect most of you have seen, is Scripture Catholic. I'm not at all involved with the site, but it's a good resource. (edit: it recieved a green light from Catholic Culture) What might be a good idea is to include a short discussion of the driving question behind Catholic theology. In most Protestant theologies, especially evangelical, the driving question is, "What must I do to be saved?" I'm sure to many of us it seems a strange question, since it has something of a minimalist air to it. But, if you look at Catholicism through that lens, then, the saints, praying to the Blessed Mother, etc, all simply don't make sense. That's because we ask a different question. We ask: Who is Jesus? That, I think, really is what drives our faith, and expands it beyond just a search for salvation. When we try to come to know Jesus, there are many things that help, like knowing who His mother is and knowing her. I do not think that we aim just at avoiding hell, but that we aim at being with the divine that we love, we aim at joining in the love affair of the Trinity. I think that that might help... although, it could very well already be there. In Christ, Dave Edited July 2, 2004 by BurkeFan

Guest JeffCR07
Dust, with regards to the "Common Prayers" section, I have just a few suggestions: The Essentials: Our Father Hail Mary Apostles'/Nicean Creed The Awesomes: Prayer to St. Micheal Hail Holy Queen The Angelus "O my Jesus" I know there are tons more, but I figured those were enough (they're also my personal favorites). basssoon
As most of you may know, I have aspirations for phatmass to create and fund a booklet project. It will be a small, 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" pocket sized booklet, similar to the Catholic Answers tracts. The cover will be dope, and the content will be written in an easy to read urban style.
(Warning: I'm really new to phatmass, so feel free to ignore this...) It would be really cool if you could make it a PDF file and have the pamphlet on the main site. Being a Catholic-In-Training (hopeful?) something like that would be really useful to have around. Just a thought
Guest JeffCR07
basssoon, thats not a bad idea at all! Dust, I think once you've got it done, you should post it on here.
Theoketos
dUSt I just wrote a huge thesis on Theology of the Body, how long do want the summery? Here is a sample of my writting that is much shorter but about the same thing. (It is in word document). I think I did a good enough Job that any one reading this would probably grasp it. ilovechrist
i like these ideas! don't make it TOO big though.. you want it very accessible...so it maintains the status of a booklet.
