dUSt
As most of you may know, I have aspirations for phatmass to create and fund a booklet project. It will be a small, 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" pocket sized booklet, similar to the Catholic Answers tracts. The cover will be dope, and the content will be written in an easy to read urban style. I need help with what should go inside. You gotta remember the goal and audience. This booklet will be handed out at all the events phatmass attends and sold in bulk online (for the minimum costs). Here's my ideas of what to include so far: Intelligence Briefing: * Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth type article, re-written in a more youth friendly style * Scripture cheat sheet, listing the top ten scripture references for all major Catholic teachings * Glossary of common Catholic terms * Church Timeline Physical Training: * Theology of the Body Summary * Dating/Abstinence Guide * Birth Control and Abortion Attack Plan Spiritual Warfare: * How to pray the rosary * How to make a good confession * How to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet * Encouraging Adoration * Mass breakdown * Common prayers Anything else? crusader1234
Maybe a Church timeline (don't get too detailed or it'd be too long). I also thought a good idea was one of the original ones of having an apologetics section with quick summarys defending all of the things you can find on the reference page. phatcatholic
with the "mental" and "spiritual" sections you can add a "physical" one Physical --theology of the body for every day teens --christian sexuality/christian dating (how far is too far?) --condoms and birthcontrol --abortion
EcceNovaFacioOmni
How about some of the summaries from the reference section? (BTW: We completed the Peter and the Papacy summary (minus a scriptural index), if you'd like to look it over before posting it: http://phorum.phatmass.com/index.php?showtopic=13538&st=25&)
cmotherofpirl
Can you add one line in Keysd to the kingdom section? I think it is important to put Jesus reply in as well : 17: And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. Jesus affirms that Peter's knowledge is directly from God and in the next verse he makes peter head of the Church. So the choice of Peter is divinely inspired.
Keys to the Kingdom Jesus is the Messiah, which means that he is King. Peter infallibly pronounced Jesus as the Messiah when the disciples were unclear about who Jesus was. (Matt 16:16-17) Jesus in return gave Peter the “keys to the kingdom” with the authority to “bind and loose”. (Matt 16:19) It was once commonly understood that when a king left his kingdom, there was appointed a steward who held the keys to the kingdom. (see Isaiah 22:22) The successor of Peter –John Paul II- now holds the keys to defend the kingdom from its enemies.
Edited July 2, 2004 by thedude

dUSt
I changed the section titles (going for a war setting, like a good vs evil battle). Added some of the suggestions in red. This is going to be awesome. I hope it doesn't get too big. I'd want to keep it condensed enough to be read in less than an hour--more of a reference guide than a book.
