Religious Sisters of Mercy Alma

When I was with the Nashville Dominicans, the sisters were aloud three or four visits a year, including the novices.  The postulants went home for a week just before their clothing but did not go home again until after final vows.  They did not call home unless some emergency situation arose.  They wrote family each month but not friends, though they could receive letters from friends at Christmas. Of course, after final vows, this was relaxed quite a bit.  Just for comparison...
