Wheat Allergy And The Eucharist

I've been wondering about this lately: what if a priest has/develops an allergy to wheat? How does he consume the host, then? Also, I realized that this question is really a wider one...I know several people who cannot eat wheat, and from what I understand, the wafer is only supposed to be made of wheat and water.

So what do these people do?

I'm not sure about the priest. I think this would be decided on a case by case basis. It would depend on the severity of the allergy, what he was specifically allergic to, etc.

As for a person in the pew who is allergic, they would receive from the species of wine. Both the species of bread and the species of wine contain the total Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus.
