Also,

I was advised by a Carthusian novice master to be a wandering monk. I actually have references. But I don't really have faith in that way. The need for support is real. In this day and age I fear the response from any monasteries or convents I approached would be fear and mistrust. 

I'm as to whether people think some communities , both male and female, would be open to me staying with them for a period and moving on.
