Further Information in Support of Example:
"Caution is advised regarding Fr. Gruner"
Fr. Gruner is the international director of the Fatima Network. His faculties are in doubt and his case is presently being studied by the Holy See. Reputable authorities have accused Gruner of twisting the words of the Pope and Sr. Lucia, especially with regard to the consecration of Russia.

Declaration published on 4 October 1992 of English edition of L'Osservatore Romano:

The Congregation for the Clergy declares that the International Meeting on the topic, Peace in the World and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, scheduled for 8-12 October in Fatima, Portugal, and organized by Fr. Nicholas Gruner, has not been approved by the competent ecclesiastical authorities.
The Congregation also declares that the same Fr. Nicholas Gruner does not have faculties from the Diocese of Leiria-Fatima to perform ministerial acts.

Cardinal Jose T. Sanchez, prefect + Archbishop Crescenzio See, secretary

I have posted this and have read the Fatima Shrine website where it says that they have opened it up for other denominations.

I would post the link, but because of Fr. Gruner, the site has a yellow light from Catholic Culture. This is why I posted this snippet above. :)

Father Gruner has been on the outs for years. Its best to avoid anything by him or his website.

Fatima is not being turned into any into denominational anything. They are simply building a new Church.

In fact people supporting his views stand outside places like the Little Shepherd's houses, where they have a captive audience, handing out newspapers which openly criticise John Paul II, saying that he has not fulfilled the requirements made by Our Lady. It is beyond my understanding that JPII would NOT do as was requested since he has openly credited Our Lady of Fatima with interceeding and saving his life......he turned to look at a picture of her just as he was shot and by turning, the bullet missed his vital organs. Plus of course, he has a very real experience of living under communism so knows very clearly how evil this atheistic philosophy is and would without doubt do everything in his power to ensure that it was not given opportunity to spread.

I wonder how many times this has to be posted before it sinks in?!!

The current basilica is too small to hold the numbers of people who want to celebrate Mass there throughout the day so it is hoped that the new church will help.

I was in Fatima in May and the guides were constantly asked by people about the story of the interfaith shrine and kept repeating that it is and will always be a Catholic shrine and there are no plans to change that. I certainly saw no evidence to suggest otherwise.

Then why was there a Hindu ceremony held in the Church?

Doesnt that require re-consecration now?
