I think relics are cool so I started this thread for discussing relics and any third class relics you have or have purchased. I am interested in what everyone here has to say.

I'll start:
I have some water from Lourdes but no relics.

At the University of Notre Dame, there is a large collection of relics in the Basillica of the Sacred Heart. If you ever visit the campus, it is a cool place to check out.

I have a first class relic of St. Maria Goretti. I have developed a devotion to her as a result. It is a remarkable thing. God's Grace amazes me. I won't bother anyone with the story (nor do I desire to tell it) but nothing could have been more fitting than for this relic to have come into my possession when it did.

How on earth does a BOOKSTORE have the first and second class relics of like the HOLIEST people to ever walk the earth? I doubt this bookstore could possibly have a first or second class relic of any of the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. I find this a tad bit much to believe. Yeah, right, these relics which the Church has kept sacred for close to 2,000 years lay in a bookstore just waiting to be purchased. <_<

That's like when my father was a kid, in the Church, I feel very ashamed to say this, they had a tiny little piece of a wooden splinter which came from the ACTUAL Cross that Jesus died on. Yeah, OK, and I'm the Buddha.

I hate it when people use the Holy Roman Catholic Church to try to endorse B.S. That's one of the reasons why my father broke away from Catholicism, and it's unfortunate. I told him to reconcile with the Church and discuss his gripes with someone of some Catholic authority, but he says that he can't be part of something that does stuff like that.

I in a sense understand where he's coming from, but I pray that he comes back home to the Church, and that someone give him a really good explanation about stuff like that.
