homeschoolmom
It's not that not eating meat is weird (so don't freak out on me or anything...) It's the randomness of their tastebuds... yesterday-- yes... today-- no. I made some chicken on the grill.. and my son loves (or loved) drumsticks... today, he takes a bite and says, "Ew... I think I bit into it's lung!!!" Yet they'll eat hotdogs...
Carrie
A friend of mine has a 7 year old that will only eat food that is white now. White bread, white rice, cauliflower, vanilla ice cream...but nothing with color. Eating is one of the few things kids can exert control over. With everything else, parents rule, so alot of times they'll go through crazy phases about what they will or won't eat because they're experimenting with control. St. Catherine
Kids and their random eating habits, don't you just love them. We have to tell our daughter that every type of meat is chicken or else she doesn't eat it.
homeschoolmom
That reminds me of when my dd was about 4 and she was realllllly surly one day... she asked what we were having for dinner. I knew that "fishsticks" would be met with opposition. So, I told her (in a really excited voice) that it was OCEAN CHICKEN!!!! She was so excited and stated screaming with joy!!! "I LOVE OCEAN CHICKEN!!!" She never knew...
homeschoolmom
also, my kids used to refer to all meats as "ham"... as in "I don't like that kind of ham."
Rebirth flame
my nephew, who until recently loved corn, has decided it would be more fun to throw it at people than eat it... he loathes the stuff now, and has moved on to carrots...

homeschoolmom
I guess if the only things I could control in my life is what to eat and what to wear, I'd be pretty weird about it, too.... (my son wears rainboots everywhere-- cept church... that's another thread...)

thicke
I would say your kids are probably hanging out with a bad crowd at school. But I bet that's not the case....

The ancient Romans flavored their milk with wine. Now that's gross...alcohol curtles milk...
