Rebirth flame
ok, this is gonna seem really really stupid/simple compared to all the other questions on this site, but i have one for y'all... Is Cephas pronounced See-fas or Kay-fas? or is it another way? i know, i'm wasing someones time askin a silly question like this, but i always thought it was Kay-fas and someone else i know pronounces it See-fas... i'm just curious... thank you soooo much for any answer, i appreciate it! (especially on such a silly topic ) May the Peace of Christ find rest within your heart! ~rebirth
Pio Nono
JMJ 6/30 - Thirteenth Wednesday Rebirth flame, Don't worry, your question is very legitimate. In Aramaic, Cephas sounds more like KAY-fas, but the English transliteration often pronounces it SEE-phas. Hope this helps. BLAZEr
In the Passion of Christ, Mary runs to Peter just outside of the Temple where they've taken Jesus to be judged by the Sanhedrin and she sees Peter and cries "Keefa." So if you want to know how to pronounce it, that's how.
