Iacobus
But Moore is not the sole owner of the flim. It would be like if I said you can come and take everything in my house. I own part of it, but not all of it. Moore made it but it was purchased by two brothers and released via LGF, all of whom are part owners. Last I checked, they didn't say it was free. So it is still theft.
Aloysius
12% downloaded. Michael Moore made a movie. Michael Moore said he wants people to steal the movie he made. I'm stealing the movie he made.
Iacobus
Yes, but it is not Moore you are hurting. Moore is not the sole owner. Therefore you are commiting theift, a sin.
crusader1234
Haha Aloysius, Iacobus is right. Here in Canada we have commercials before every movie where they show all the people involved in making movies... Stealing the movie might not offend or hurt moore, but it sure hurts the movie theatres, distributors, etc. who have all banked on people going to see it only to have people go and download it because of some flippant remark. Aloysius
well, they shouldn't be working for Michael Moore. The creator of a peice of work has the responsibility to protect all those who work on it. It's like the one time I asked dUSt to let me burn the PhatMass CD. If he had said yes (which he didnt) that would have heart all the artists, but it was dUSt's decision. Moore said everyone can fileshare his movie as much as they want. Michael Moore hurt anyone who would loose money from that. besides, I would never give money to support evil propaganda anyway.

XIX
Dude, if I watch Farenheight 9/11, it won't be free. It will cost me 2 hours of my life, which I will never get back! I hear it's just dumb propoganda. Tho to nobody's surprise, it got rave reviews from the New York Times.
Aloysius
yeah, i know it's propaganda and it will cost me 2 hours of my life, but i'd rather at least see it to know what was in it. and i refuse to support that madman with money. this is a good recourse. curtins
not surprising- the new york times is totaly libral and biased and NOT FAIR AND BALANCED thats why i dont particulaly like nyt
Iacobus
I liked the movie and didn't think of it as propoganda. But I still think downloading the flim is wrong. You aren't hurting more at all. He is already made some money. You are hurting the man who ran the camera, the man who edited it, you are hurting all the empolyees of LGFs. LGFs make more than Moore. You are stealing from family, from people, who have nothing to do with this flim. You are not stealing from Moore alone. You are also killing part of yourself and stealing yourself from God by sinning by downloading it. Stop it and delete your file.

Sorry Al, I don't think its right, whether he said to steal it or not.
You're right, Az. The more I read on this thread, the more I didn't think it'd be a good idea to download it. I'll just rent it when it comes out on DVD. God bless, Jen
Aloysius
I disagree with all of you. It is Moore's movie, he has authority over it. I'm downloading it. I'm hurting no one, not even myself. pAx
Azriel
Do whatever you want Al - I just have a responsibility to do what I think is right for the phorum. In this case, its just too iffy for me to be comfortable with the links. God Bless.
crusader1234
I think whats important is Moore doesnt even own the movie... its NOT his!!! He cant give it away. He sold it to the distributors.
I disagree with all of you. It is Moore's movie, he has authority over it. I'm downloading it.
