beatitude
In the parable of the wise and foolish bridesmaids, Jesus tells us always to be prepared for his return, but emphasises that we do not know when that will be - "Keep awake, for you do not know the day nor the hour." I think this is why Catholics tend not to dwell too much on End Times prophecies in the way that some other denominations do. The important thing is that we lead a good and faithful life. Luigi
"... as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior." Every time I pray that part of the Our Father at Mass, I think "... as we wait in joyful hope for our coming to the Savior," which I think is much more likely to happen first. In either case, we'll see God face to face. So it doesn't really matter if Mohammed goes to the mountain or if the mountain comes to Mohammed - the two will eventually meet. My point is, Don't hold your breath.
