andibc
As a mother of two religious sisters, I was so touched by the love Emma expressed in this post. Lauren was one of our daughter’s roommates (before she got married this past fall) and is entering the carmel that was refounded by the Carmel of JMJ, where one of our other daughters is a professed nun. She’s such a lovely young lady. https://www.emmabdickinson.com/single-post/2019/02/01/On-losing-Lauren?fbclid=IwAR0Mb93JmmLdMfYaAiU-_ATfevbJoW7tTqjmcyRYK7aQErC2Z4JL8sSx990 Edited February 2, 2019 by andibc
JHFamily
What a beautiful post! I have a daughter that entered one of the JMJ Carmels this past year, and certainly our loss is our gain! Her mom's comment, "It's like she's deciding to go to heaven early," is so spot-on. I use this line of reasoning with those who ask in bewilderment about the grills. She has chosen to separate herself from the world and go towards God. We are not permitted intimate contact with those who have died, and so it should be with those who are waiting in the antechamber of heaven. My daughter recently wrote, "I have learned that St. Therese figured out how to have her cake and eat it, too.... I wrote earlier that I was in heaven, but I should have written I am in heaven." I hope Lauren finds her new life just as rewarding.
