BarbTherese
This video is all about perspective (and is a really good one) on the scandals in The Church and the potential root of the problems we have Emphasis is on the seriousness of the problem in The Church ........ but should we abandon ship? "Why Remain Catholic During the Abuse Scandals? If the Church is broke, why not become Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, Sedevacantist (rejection of current Pope), or explore Eastern religions? Dr Taylor Marshall and Timothy Gordon discuss why you should remain Catholic during the horrific abuse scandals. Bo Sanchez and Bishop Robert Barron have addressed this topic but Taylor and Tim specifically address the question: "Why don't we become Eastern Orthodoxy or Sedevacantists. Taylor explains why that it's a bad "solution." They provide reasons why you should remain Catholic no matter how bad it gets." You may agree or disagree with Pope Francis and other contentious issues in The Church - but do not leave The Church. Stay and fight for what your beliefs might be. There would be an abundance of Grace pouring into The Church through worthily attending Mass and Holy Communion than abandoning them altogether. I found the closing minutes of the video particularly important for today (fom 1hr 20mins on to the end). Part of our problem is that once disillusionment etc. with The Church settles in, one is more inclined towards negative commentary on The Church rather than investing in sound Catholic reading etc. matter. We can become so disillusioned etc. with The Church that more than seeking for Truth, we seek out anything that will prop up our increasingly firm decision to abandon ship. It is not as if we were not warned about false teachers and prophets within The Church : Matthew Ch24 "False messiahs and false prophets will arise, and they will perform signs and wonders so great as to deceive, if that were possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told it to you beforehand."
