Kateri89
Hello all, It’s been a rough year for Pittsburgh and now the Jewish community here is suffering persecution once again for no other reason than being Jewish. In case you missed it, an anti-Semitic man opened fire in the Tree of Life Synagogue yesterday morning during services. He killed 11 people, 4 of which were alive when the Holocaust happened. He injured 6 others as well. First and foremost, please pray for the victims and their families and friends. Please also pray for the shooter to see the horror of what he has done and to repent. We can also help in a material way by donating to the fundraiser that has been set up to help the victims. This could help with medical expenses, funeral costs, and repairing the synagogue, etc. https://www.gofundme.com/tree-of-life-synagogue-shooting We seem to be living in a nation that becomes more politically polarized as it grows more spiritually bereft. I keep thinking of the Good Samaritan and the importance of recognizing that we are all made in the image and likeness of God. To demonize and dehumanize people who are different from us is to deny God’s handiwork. The only way to prevent these evils from happening again is to return to Him and recognize that each of us has an obligation to be His hands and feet in this world.
