Michael Moore Hates America

I am cautious about seeing MMHA because it seems like the same style of film making. I will see it if I have the chance though. I did see Bowling for columbine, but I'm not too interested in F 9/11. Maybe if someone rents it in the future and I just happen to be over.

this Michael Moore Hates America looks like an awesome movie, an ounce of sanity and optimism and a message that the world's not gonna blow up any day now

I agree with Iacobus, he loves America, and in his view it is corrupt and he is exposing that ina creative and entertaining manner. Its sad that there arent any republicans who can make a compelling and creative documentary like this...

It looks like an interesting documentary - but not quite up to the same par as moore's films in quality and content. I'll go see it because I mean you cant judge a movie by its trailer (stepford wives is a comedy - who knew?) however I still take offense at the idea that Michael Moore hates America... that IS slanderous and inaccurate.

actually, I believe it to be true.

but that's just my opinion.

he hates what America is right now. he has a pessemistic view of what America is now and has a communistic view of what it could be.

in my humble opinion, Michael Moore does indeed hate America.

okay, then it's in my opinion. whatever! i'm just saying that from what I've seen of his views, the statement "Michael Moore Hates America" does not seem too far off to me.

Okay, I'm not too knowledgable on world politics, but I'm comparing it with stuff we just discussed in Ancient History earlier today, about the formation of the Athenian Empire. I think you could pretty much replace "Greece" or "Athens" in the 5th century BC with the US today, and "Persia" with ("Iraq"/"terrorists"/whatever) (well, not necessarily but just to make a point - it's East versus West newyas). The Delian League was formed as a defense alliance against the Persians. Just about every textbook the school has on this carries the connotation that Athens became power-hungry and began stamping on anyone who tried to "medise" (that is, turn artound and support the Persians), saying "we're the best, submit to us, OR ELSE." These textbooks also say that the Persian threat diminished over that period from the 470s BC onwards, that the Persians were crushed after the Battle of Eurymedon in 465 and so the Athenians were happy.
BUT there was one League member, the island of Naxos, which rebelled in 469. It was no coincidence that it was halfway between the Greek mainland and Persia and, while being Greek, had some Persian sympathisers. The theory goes that the Persian threat never went away (they tried to take Egypt from the Persians and got steamrollered in 454). So maybe all this crushing rebelling allies thing did have something to do with keeping the defensive alliance together. But I think converting everything to Athenian currency and measuring was a bit far.
Make what comparisons you want. I don't want to side with Micheal Moore and say I hate the way the government works, nor do I want to side against him. There's so much that none of the media ever includes, and while I don't think the US government is all corrupt, what government (save for God's, up in Heaven, that is) *doesn't* have corrupt members?

I cant find it. Some author made a book in 1963 under Fahrenheit 9/11, and claims Moore stole the title and some themes. It was on Yahoo! News the other week.
If Michael Moore hated america would he really bother to expose what he thinks is truth?
What you mean by that?
