Paladin D
I'm not sure, Paladin. If this movie hurt one's faith, I'd tell that person to not watch the movie again. But I didn't walk away feeling like this. If anything, I was awed at the power of God and the triumph of good over evil. This movie, actually, made me feel very proud to be Catholic. Yes, this movie is scary, but I'm guessing Fr. Amorth's (Fr. Amorth is the chief exorcist of Rome) books would be kind of scary as well. Mark Shea posted a story about demons around Halloween of last year, I think, and I was sitting there looking over my shoulders every few minutes. I know that God is greater than Satan, but I also know that I am powerless without God. Humans are naturally a bit scared when their perceptions are challenged. People don't normally speak languages they don't know, or speak things backwards, so I'd be pretty scared if I heard someone talk like this. I'd be like, "Um, something's wrong." I think human beings are just wired that way. But no Catholic should be spiritually scared of demons, and the reason for this is because we know that Jesus is stronger than Satan and all of the demons in Hell. God bless, Jen
Yeah, but I've felt the presence of demons at least a couple times. It's the most horrible feeling, your heart feels like it's going to stop. I know God is far more powerful, but it doesn't mean the presence of a demon isn't scary (especially their appearance).
MC Just
any of yall ever see "The haunted" it was a movie that only aired on Fox back in 1992. It's about a Catholic family that moves into a new home, and they awaken a demon. Their lives become hell on earth. It's a true story about the smurl family from pennsilvania. That movie scared the heck out of me. I'ts showing on Sci-fi this saturday (10th) at 8:00 AM. I love the movie and i have been trying to find it for the longest... It might be just too close for comfort for some people, and I respect that. God bless, Jen
Hi MC Just, I'll have to check it out. I'm a horror movie buff. Things that are based on true stories scare the carp out of me, though. I don't know if I'll be up that early, but I'd like to see it, for sure. Is it playing at any other time? God bless, Jen
