Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, Latin for "For the Greater Glory of God" or something similar. I think it is the motto of the Jesuits and it was the motto of St. Ignacio de Loyola.

It's something to think constantly, especially when people praise or compliment you...or when you're doing something you don't feel like doing...AMDG, for the greater Glory of God :D

When you cannot throw away your old ash wednesday palm crosses even though you keep getting a fresh one every year because you are afraid it could be a sacrelege.

When you have Sacred Heart candles ready as protection for the 3 days of darkness and you get mad at your husband for moving them in a back room because he thinks they are tacky. And you feel it's a sacreledge to put them away in a closet.

When you fuss at your family for burying statues of St. Joseph upside down in their yard for their house to sell, and you actually know it's only a superstition, not approved by the church, and the practice came from Haiti.

When you are obsessed with following the story of Audrey Santos.

When you know all of "Mary's Flowers", and the legends and symbolism behind them and you think you get revelations when you pass them in nature and think God made the flowers grow there for you as a sign.

;-)
This was on the catholic nerd site...

"When you think switching rosaries is *sooo* romantic" :rotfl:

lol, that's not quite true for me, because I've done that more than once
What??? It IS romantic! :-)

When you make homemade rosaries, and talk with your sisters for hours on the phone about your rosary ideas.

When you think you smell roses, and are convinced St. Therese is sending you showers of roses.
