Carnanc
I posted this in Open Mic http://phorum.phatmass.com/index.php?showtopic=14577 I have been told that Microsoft supports abortion, I am wondering, does this mean that we should do all we can to not support them in anything. I'm specifically wondering because we have upgraded our internet to DSL, through MSN and will be paying them now 35.00 a month. My parents see it as the best service, though they probably don't know MSN supports abortion, should I tell them?. should I try to get them to consider a different DSL service, or is ok to support MSN in this situation???? BLAZEr
This is a prudential judgement you and your family will have to make. You are not committing a mortal sin by using MSN for your internet service. I think here the example of Berkshire Hathaway is a good one to remember for how to deal with this: Berkshire Hathaway is owned by Warren Buffet. It owns Dairy Queen and Pampered Chef (among other business). Warren Buffet and B-H were huge donors to pro-abort causes and population control organizations (i.e. Planned Parenthood). The stock holders from Pampered Chef and the workers themselves (mostly women, Pampered Chef is a tupperware type company where its good are sold usually in parties and door to door by housewives who are trying to get some additional income) began to raise a ruckus about Berkshire-Hathaway's support for abortion and population control. They wrote letters to stock owners and the Board of Trustees. The presented to them their plans for a boycott and public relations nightmare. This last year Berkshire-Hathaway announced it was going to stop 100% of its charitable giving. Including the pro-abortion stuff. This is good news, and evidence that you can effect more change through an organized effort as opposed to an individual decision to boycott.
