Has anyone ever made rice noodles in peanut oil?

You boil the peanut oil and then drop the rice noodles in at once in a clump and they fast fry and expand in like 10 seconds.
No, I don't really like crunchy noodles... I DO like rice noodles, though. :D

I've never had that, but it sounds really good. I bet that'd be good with spicy soy sauce. Is that a Vietnamese dish?

God bless,

Jen
I don't like alfredo sauce at all, but I love, love, love angel hair pasta. I have this angel hair pasta recipe that I made up for Lent. Basically, I sautee onions, garlic, and sometimes mushrooms and spinach in olive oil. Then I mix it with the pasta and add a little water. Yummy!

God bless,

Jen
Mmmmm... that sounds SO good!

And its so easy to make that even my husband can make it--and the most he ever cooks is boxed mac and coagulated milk and sometimes eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast (nuking spaghettios or a hot dog doesn't count, and don't get me started on how he stunk up my house trying to char--I mean cook--hamburgers one night with his friends). :P

Haha. Not necessarily. It's hard to beat something that cooks so quickly.

God bless,

I've never had the real kind. I've only had the kind that comes in a box or something, and it was NARST! Maybe I should eat it for Lent next year. That'd be penance. LOL.

I'm not sure. My mother made it once; I never have. Being from Nebraska, I make a lot of meat foods (whiskey-peach rib-eyes; beef wellington; prime rib; beef ribs; pork ribs; lemon chicken; etc.) and a TON of baked goods (chocolate brownie torte, which is very rich; chocolate whiskey bread pudding rum raisin bread pudding, brandy bread pudding; butterscotch poppyseed cake, which one a blue ribbon at the state fair when my mother made it one year; etc.).

I've had authentic Vietnamese before...shrimp bread is good...

Where I went to seminary there was a small order of Vietnamese monks and priests who celebrated Tet with the students. It was a lot of fun.

We should put together a Phatmass cook book!

No, my food comes from scratch as much as it can.

No hamburger helper for me!
