IcePrincessKRS
Yeah, 20-30 sounds reasonable.. I usually fall asleep somewhere in the middle of that when I pray before bed...... -_-
Me, too! lol
IcePrincessKRS
I love to sing the Chaplet of Divine Mercy like they do on EWTN!
Again, me too!
Yeah, I think so. Especially when you're just learning the prayers. I remember praying it with my family growing up and when the little kids just learning were saying the prayers we older kids who wanted to hurry up and go read or watch TV before bed thought it would never end. One brother liked to lead so he could pray faster. lol
MorphRC
Use to take me 10mins.

Ash Wednesday
I would say 20 minutes for 1 mystery, and about an hour for all three. I pray it faster if it's prayed out loud. I tend to pray slower when I'm just praying in my head. Someone before mass last month was praying a rosary for the first saturday devotions, and the way he was praying it just sounded so funny because of the way he rattled it off, I had to repress chuckling and smiling. Ellenita
The French nuns at my mother's school growing up taught her that if you fall asleep during the rosary, the angels come down over you and finish it on your behalf.
That's a wonderful picture! I've drifted into sleep a couple of times if I've been praying it late at night and I'm tired, but I always seem to wake up again praying the prayer I fell asleep on....I'm always really upset I fell asleep though! It usually takes me about half an hour to pray. I found it really difficult to pray with other people at first - it seemed to go really fast, and I didn't realise that someone led the prayers so it was confusing.....but now I find it beautiful to pray with other people.... ......actually I find it beautiful to pray at any time, in any situation! I didn't know it could be sung though!
Carnanc
for me to do all 15 mysteries it always seems to take me at least an hour and half, and for just the joyful mysteries it always takes about 30 min.
XIX
25 Minutes about. 90 mins to do the 15 mysteries usually. However, sometimes when I pray by myself, I spend extra time between decades just contemplating life, and speaking with God and such. So it can take a little longer I suppose. cmotherofpirl
I changed the phrasing of the first line of the Hail Mary when I say it. I used to say Hail Mary, full of grace. Now I say it Hail, Mary full of grace. It just seemed to me more in line with How I would address someone if I want to emphasize a title, or formally address them. The prayer sounds so much better after you try it for awhile.
-I---Love
If I pray it like I like to, that is slow and meditative - "the monastic rosary shall we say" (I like that term!) - about an hour. It all depends though if I am alone or with others - alone being much longer with more pauses for silence. Even 30 min is too fast if I have my way. VeraMaria
English: 20 min, sometimes 30 because I add all these extra prayers all through the rosary and after.. Spanish: 30-40, don't know why, mayb because the prayers are a bit longer...and I know more short prayers to add all through the rosary, lol German: 40 or more mins, I prayeed the rosary in German for weeks before the German AP so I would be "in a German-thinking" mood and get a good score! Latin: I WISH I could peay it in Latin!! I know how to sing the Ave Maria in Latin but that's it...and it takes forever...so yeah
cmotherofpirl
I have been doing the Scriptural rosary to keep me focused. Otherwise I drift off into contemplation and never get it finished.
Soldier4Him
I didn't know it could be sung though!
Sure can! I use Rich Mullin's version of the Creed, Micheal W Smith's Our Father, and the Hail Mary from the Steubenville Just Live It cd. As far as the Glory Be, and the decade prayer/Hail Holy Queen.....I do those "freestyle"
