Carnanc
I'm wondering, somewhere on the phorum someone said that MSN supported abortion, is it true?? does this mean that we should not use MSN??? cause we just signed up for DSL from MSN, and i'm just not sure. Thy Geekdom Come
I said it. Microsoft owns and runs MSN. Microsoft supports abortion financially. MSN messenger is okay, because it is a service that, as far as I know, Microsoft makes no money off of, but MSN will get none of my money, that's for sure. [/quote] Well, I hate to brust your bubble Micah. There is some software bundled in MSN messenger that is installed when you install MSN and is downloaded when you download MSN and MSN gets paid a small amount of money for bundling this software. But if you just run a search you can remove that added software, therefore not giving MSN any money for the searchs, etc, you do. Also don't click any MSN links on Messenger. They have a tracking tag in the URL so MSN knows you accessed from Messenger and can get fees if you go outside of MSN. Mac is worse. Steve Jobs is making an ad campagin for Kerry. Need I tell a GOHper more? OSwise ummm not sure what to tell you, unix (sp?) is supposed to be nice and you can get progarm that makes it look like Windows (ease of use) and it is open source (I think.). Carnanc
very interesting, so do you guys think I should try to tell my family, that we should not get DSL from MSN, and that we should get a new internet service?? We've had MSN so long and have its email and everything, so we'd have to change our addresses. I had just never heard this before. so none of you have MSN explorer and stuff..? Especially when you work with computers everyday. Don't get me wrong, I like my Windows, I'd probably die if I had to convert to Linux or Unix, but probably a good 95% of the country gives money to Mocrosoft every day (we currently own 3 computers all with Windows, we generally buy a new one each year to have the best comps possible for Matt's work, and its a tax write off...) Its hard to try and boycott everything, especially when you make your living with it, ya know? Edited June 27, 2004 by IcePrincessKRS
