Catholic High Schools in the US

Hiya everyone,

First post to this forum. I have an interest in Catholic education and was reading the USCCB's 'Curriculum Framework' for High School Religion classes. It is super good! In depth, thorough and copious references to the catechism. Puts my own country's Theology curriculum to shame. 

I have two questions to ask to members who may be in the know.

1. Is the curriculum actually followed on the ground?

2. What are the academic requirements to teach high school theology in the US? Is it a full theology degree, or something lesser?
