[Anomaly]

My wife’s best friend is miserable and is dying very slowly.  She hasn’t been able to eat or drink anything (not even water) for weeks, and will never be able to.  She’s receiving IV feeding.   She has dry heaves every couple of hours.   Nothing more can be done, but she’s able to walk and talk and is cognizant of everything.  It’s a crushingly horrible way to die and is awful for her, her family, husband, and loved ones.  It’s long past final laughs and tears and goodbyes.  It’s only waiting for cancer to spread enough and overwhelm all the other organs, which can be many more weeks like this.
