Messianic Jews

I don't know much about Messianic Jews except that they believe that Jesus is the Messiah. How can they believe He is the Messiah and not be Catholic?

I dont know why people call them Jews.

1: The majority are white, and have no Jewish ancestery.
2: Some believe in the Trinity, Some Rebuke it, so they can the Shema, which they can say anyways.
3: They believe their historically the original believers in Christ, even though the sect was founded in the 19th century, I think.

Its a very confused religion. Its neither Christian nor Jewish. Some Jews with jewry ancestery do exist in the sect, but the majority are non-jews, therefore calling them Jews, is incorrect.

I still dont know what a Messianic Jew is?
I have already known the problem with Jews for Jesus. My sister was interested in them until she found they had adopted alot of the same practices as J.W.'s.
Now I have no idea what she is 'into'.

But still, what is a Messianic Jew?

To my knowledge, a Messianic Jew is almost the same as a Jew, except they believe in Jesus as Messiah. They believe in the Trinity, use the Christian (Protestant) biblical canon, and celebrate all Jewish customs and holidays. They do NOT celebrate Christmas, Easter, or any specifically Christian holidays. They generally view all of Christianity as pagan.


When I was browsing some of their sites, they struck me as being very ethnocentric towards the Jewish race and culture. It was almost like an us vs. them, Jew vs. Gentile thing.

They what archbishop said. They still hold on to racism of Jew Vs Gentile, even though God in the OT, to my knowledge, never said anything more than dont marry with gentiles because of spiritual danger, but messies bring it up as if its a war of evil or something, some are more moderate, but the majority are very anti-gentile, and are willing to shove it in your face. Even though the majority of them are GENTILE< and have no Jewry in the family history.
