OnlySunshine
I had applied and been accepted to start my Master's degree at USC this summer and was well on my way to beginning the semester in 2 weeks, but things took an abrupt turn and I decided to drop my class and re-evaluate my choices. I have terminated my application with USC. I cannot shake the feeling that I'm supposed to do more with my life and go back into direct care. As a result, I am, once again, looking into nursing school to become a Nurse Practitioner (something I did periodically before, during, and after my Bachelor's degree). The best option for me is to enroll in an accelerated program for students who already have a Bachelor degree but are not in nursing. I have 3 prerequisite courses that I need to complete - Human A&P I, Human A&P II, and Microbiology. I have received a scholarship thru work that should pay for these classes, but I am in the process of reapplying to my university to take the pre-requisites. I believe I would have the best chance of being accepted to the Accelerated program in my university where I received my Bachelor degree. After getting my second Bachelor degree, I can either enroll in an MSN program or DNP program to become an ARNP. Please say some prayers that this works out. I know it is a big step to take, but the other program did not feel right at all and I just didn't get any peace that I had been accepted. This, however, feels like the right move. There is so much I can do with a nursing degree.
