Matthew_WNN
I'm a high school student and most of my friends insult each other in a joking way, but they sometimes take it too far. Am I sinning if I tease someone after they've made a joke about me?? Isn't that fair? I'm worried that I'm way too concerned about sinning sometimes and I can't enjoy life like most teenagers, but is this an instance where I would be sinning? Theoketos
It is a natural thing for youth to do this. And it probably is not a sin based on the context; especially if one considers the habit and prevalence in our culture. But it would better and a sign of maturity if you could only speak in kindness. The saints, including St. John Bosco, recommend doing so.
