Poor Friars
"Poor Friars and Nuns" New Community, New Vocations & New Ordinations... Thanks be to God our community continues to grow throughout the world. Here for you, an update: Our dear Friar Nathaniel has been sent by our General Superior to the Diocese of Toulon in France to open a new community there with Friar Stephan. Recently they joined our sisters from our community in Cremona (Italy) for a Parish Mission in Como, Northern Italy. May the Lord bless him with a fruitful mission as he work towards building the Kingdom of God in Southern France and as he prepare for his God willing Diaconate Ordination (below: Friar Nathaniel and Friar Stephan evangelizing in the Diocese of Como, N. Italy). Our number of sisters continue to grow; We congratulate Sister Allison (now with our American Community in Louisiana) who made her postulant vows last month, may she be blessed in this year of test and preparation before her novitiate. Click on this image below to see the short video of the ceremony: We welcome another 2 Chinese women to our community in Noto, Martha and Mariana who came to know our community though our sister Anna (also Chinese) whilst studying in Rome. Please keep them in your prayers as they grow through their formation - and especially Sr. Anna who will be making her Novitiate vows next week. (Below: Our sisters housed in our Sicilian community in the Diocese of Noto) Many prayers and best wishes to our Vice General Fr. Giuseppe (now completing his doctorate at the Biblicum Pontifical University in Rome) who was Ordained to the Priesthood a week ago in Sardinia. May your consecrated hands bare much fruit of conversion and vocation as through them they forgive our sins and Consecrate the Body of Christ. (Below: Fr. Giuseppe Celebrating his 1st Mass - click on the link below this image to see a video of the Ordination highlights) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvAyAJKny0k&feature=youtu.be As we grow in the 5 respective diocese though-out the world, we strive forward to announce the Gospel to the world and make "Fishers of men (and women)" (Matt 4:19). Now some 30 members we have a vast diversity of nationalities among us as Consecrated members: Italian, French, Portuguese, Australian, American, German, Mexican, Albanian, Dominican Republican, and Chinese and pray that we can continue to work diligently in the Name of Christ and His Holy Mother Catholic Church for the greater Glory of God and the Salvation of the most number of souls possible. The habit you are wearing in your profile picture looks quite different from the one of the Poor Friars so I was curious

I only quoted part of it and the quote box didn't go around it. Also when I typed it was using the same red. No the profile picture is not of me and the person in the picture is in a different order. Peace and Good "John Paul", Our Postulants only make a promise before the community to live their "pre-novitiate" according to the charism and lifestyle of our community. Professions are only made at the end of the novitiate (see 2,12) and then for the following 3 years (see 2,13) until they become perpetual. Here is an excerpt from our Constitutions approved at a Diocesan level "Ad-Eperimentum" as Public Association in anticipation of becoming an Institute of Consecrated Life with an Episcopal Decree of the 30th of May 2014: ITINERARY OF CONSECRATION: 2,9 At the beginning a series of encounters will permit a primary knowledge of the candidates, so to understand if they are well balanced and truly seeking God’s will. Following this, one could do an experience of at least six months in a determined house (cf. Chap. 6:4-5), for an initial vocational discernment. 2,10 One then proceeds with a year of test, denominated the pre-novitiate, during which one goes deeper into their discernment and focuses better on the aspect of the evangelical praxis, as also on the basis of a human and religious formation and a psychological/effective maturity. 2,11 Overcome this period, if suitable – according to the discernment of the major superiors – (cf. CIC 641), follows the novitiate of two years, that prepares one closer to the consecration for the temporary assumption of the evangelical counsels (cf. CIC 648). 2,12 At the end of the novitiate one assumes the evangelical counsels, officially making the temporary profession (cf. Chap. 2:18; CIC 653 §2), that will last 1 year at a time up until 3 years (cf. Chap. 2:18; CIC 655). After which one has access to the perpetual vows. 2,13 Therefore after the conclusion of the temporary vows, the members recognized suitable make their perpetual profession, otherwise they leave our community, except in the case of an extension of the temporary profession to the norms of the canon 657 §2 of the CIC.
