MiserereMeiDeus
This is very exciting! I hope this works out for you. With crochet skills you could also help make manutergium (latin for hand towel) for seminarians. I'm not sure who you could contact about this, but if you were interested in this that is a special honor. I made these in Carmel for the seminarians in the Diocese. We also embroidered their name on it. This is the special cloth, that has crochet around the linen, that the Bishop will wrap around the hands of the priest-to-be during the Ordination. The priest gives the manutergium to his mother after the ceremony and when his mother passes away she is buried with it in her hands. When I think of making vestments, I think of the Benedictines of Mary. Wouldn't that be great if they gave classes??? Maybe though if you contacted them they may have some information for you and advice?

And I actually just heard back from the Benedictines of Mary about an hour ago- they DO give classes!!!!!! Actually, even better- they let you come over for a few hours each day for a few days! YAY!! I'm hoping to go over this summer or the next (because of class ) I was so happy when Sister emailed me back! I still want to get a lot of other information to, though. Every little bit helps! 4 hours ago, Therese1895 said: @hotpink Thank you for the advice! I'm so grateful!! Learning about fit and the mechanics of cloth/ structuring is such a good idea!! Therese1895
@MiserereMeiDeus I seriously can't wait! The little nun running around is not just an emoji- that's me!! I wrote because I figured that the worst I would get is a polite and sweet "no." But I had some hopes because they heard Holy Mass in the public chapel! That's such a wonderful gift to give! I made my own patterns. My mom had me cutting patterns from the time I was tall enough to reach the dinner table.
