Guest
Josh, you post a lot of stuff you find elsewhere. For your convenience, and for the sanity of phatmass, I'm merging them all into a single thread for you! -dUSt
Guest
Why Josh, why!!! Why post such an image on a Catholic Discussion site? WHY What on earth is really eating at you, Josh............so much anger, so very much. Deal with it and if you can't seek a counsellor.
Guest
Why shouldn't it be posted? This is a public post from a Catholic School advocating gay marriage. People should just be in the dark that this is happening? Where was the anger expressed in this post? Are you for gay marriage or something? This information was just brought to my attention by a Priest via Facebook. Don't know what to tell you. It seems you're the one freaking out right now and filled with anger. Guest
Saint Benedict's Preparatory School is a college preparatory school in Newark, New Jersey, United States. It is an all-boys secondary school located on a 12 acres (4.9 ha) urban campus serving students in seventh through twelfth grades. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1990.[3] Established in 1868 by the Benedictine monks of Newark Abbey, the school is guided by the sixth century Rule of Saint Benedict. It has been a part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark for over 130 years.[5] It serves students from Newark and its neighboring communities; students come from 100 towns and about 215 schools. More than 60 are from 23 other countries.[4] As of the 2013-14 school year, the school had an enrollment of 550 students and 33.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.4:1.[
bardegaulois
Josh, Barb has a point. It's hard to tell why you post half of what you do here. You generally don't offer any commentary on what you are posting or any explanations as to why you think it's important, which isn't going to lead to much conversation at all. Maybe you're just posting with social-media-mind, figuring you'll throw whatever out and people will comment as they will, but I can't see a lot of point to what you post other than soliciting comments. And you do it quite a bit: of the 25 most recent posts linked to on the first page of the Open Mic forum, five (that's 20% of them) are yours. Guest
PART ONE Has it been reported to the related diocesan bishop ? If no response, it can be taken further. When writing to someone in some instances, it can be helpful to note on what is written that a carbon copy is sent to one or more individuals - and to do so. As an FYI, the new archbishop of Newark is Cardinal Tobin, one of the recent "red hats" appointed by Pope Francis, so it will be worth watching how Cardinal Tobin handles this situation. Added: here is the Facebook page with the post: https://www.facebook.com/GrayBees/ It's good to see that there are some comments that think this is wrong. Personally, I am yet to come across in real life a practising Catholic who thinks homosexual sexual relationships are morally right in any context, nor homosexual marriage either. The problem re evangelising and making one's opinion public can be general secular opinion and choosing to 'swim against the tide' and stand alone and up for what one believes (I am in Australia) as well as political correctness which has just gone to what are to me are absolute extremes of craziness here. Standing up for one's beliefs and standing alone can trigger off from others all sorts of nasty names and opinions..........some of which I have read directed at other members here on Phatmass. :"They have persecuted Me and they will persecute you". We were never promised a rose garden in wordly terms. I wrote a poem once, it concluded "stand defeated and stand alone. Stand". That is my maxim to myself in stand alone and up for myself and my beliefs situations. Be the above as it may, it was two homosexual guys in a relationship alone who came to my rescue at times during my very ill and poverty stricken homeless years. Do I agree morally with homosexual sexual relationships and marriage, no I do not. I also hold strongly that a child needs a male father figure and a female mother figure in a family situation i.e. I do not believe in gay or homosexual adoptions. Homosexual sexual relationships are grave matter indeed and in real danger of mortal sin (full knowledge and full consent required). Nevertheless, I take people wherever they might be without judgement and will journey along with them if they allow me to do so accepting me as a unique individual with my own beliefs etc. Similar is what The Lord does for us all too. Unconditional Love. He does not abandon us because of a terrible morally grave state, it is the person who has chosen to abandon Him where mortal sin is concerned. The Grace, Love and Mercy, of The Lord is with every single person, no exceptions and regardless of their moral state. However, He does not interfere with the freedom of our wills hence our choices. He is there always and faithfully and will help us in our choices etc., but not unless we ask with sincerity. And in petitionary prayer if "Thy Will be done" is lacking then the prayer is too...........as totally difficult as "Thy Will be done" can be at times. "Take up your cross...........and follow Me" Jesus is ideally always our way, our life and our foundation, our reference point in all things. The Church on earth is not a club for saints, but intensive care for sinners.........that is all embracing excluding no one. We are called to be truly catholic in every sense of the word as defined in any ordinary dictionary. Jesus died for all, no excepts anywhere at any time. "Follow Me". Nihil Obstat
I have heard that the Church in Australia is horrendously liberal, particularly in the cities.
