I've been, but with my terrible back, I've stopped going to the local one.  I think people are hung up in #s of people showing up for marches these days, but what is most important is the # of people showing up to vote!

I'm trying to organize a group of people who will spend the time praying in the adoration chapels while the marchers are marching, so we have the Church Militant present both physically and spiritually during our protest.

Vice President Mike Pence will speak at the March for Life on Friday — making him the first vice president ever to address the pro-life event in person.

I am sad to say our bus plans fell through. I was really looking forward to this experience. God has a plan I know. Next year I'm planning a trip on my own. Anyone want to join?

However, I am hoping that this will be one of the last Marches.

Never been able to go and still can't.  Though I logged on to Facebook to see the annual crop of "the mainstream media never covers us" posts :(  This happened after I drove to work listening to our local NPR affiliate interview the head of a pro-life group here, about going to the March for Life today in D.C.

The difference is that the vice president is attending this year. If weren't attending and speaking, NPR would have ignored it again.

And yet Vice President Pence's name was never spoken in that interview.

Saw a great time lapse video of the March from the Students for Life Twitter page (tried to post the video, but PM kept giving me a 403 Forbidden error when trying to post it).  Looked like another amesome crowd this year.

Right. This IS NPR, so although they reported on the March for Life this year, they still played the "slanted vocab" game while reporting. ""Anti-abortion protesters" gather for their "so-called MArch for Life,"
those who oppose abortion rights." etc., etc., etc.

Which is interesting because... NPR and the mainstream media will go to 'oppressed groups' and ask them what they prefer to be called - Should we say Blacks or African-Americans? Should we say homosexual or gay? The idea being - and rightfully so, in my opinion - you call people what they call themselves. It's really no different than respecting a person enough to call her by her preferred name - Margaret, Marge, Margie, Meg, Peggy, or Peg? Whichever one she gives you, that's what you should use.

But they don't extend the same right to the pro-life movement. It's straight of the 1984 playbook.

You didn't listen to the interview my local affiliate made, but I did.  And nothing you just said happened during it.  They called the Pro-Life group in their interview "pro-life".  They never used the words "anti abortion protesters" and they called it the "March for Life" not the "so-called March for Life".  So please stop drawing your own conclusions and bearing false witness against them.

I think that is amazing. Their online articles do use the words "March for Life" but other than that refer to "anti-abortion rights." So you're both kinda right. Still I understand why Pro-lifers feel they are ignored by the Media. I don't believe it would be bearing false witness to say the Media gave far more attention as well as pro or positive attention to the "Women's March" than the "March for Life." I just performed a quick advanced Google News search for this year one for in quotes "Women's March" which had 14.3 million results and one for "March for Life" which had 1.4 million results. Doing a quick Way Back Machine look at alpha-bit use outlets "Women's March" received front page, main headline placement. I can't find that happening for "March for Life."

Anyway, Pro-lifers saying they never get media attention at the "March for Life" is a hyperbole, but it has a lot of truth to it. In as much as the media covers it but barely and surely doesn't promote it as left of centered protest are promoted.

Agreed, it's tragic the March for Life didn't get anywhere near the coverage that the Women's March got, and that over the years it has been mostly ignored by the mainstream media. :(  It's been decades of people showing up and marching on behalf of the most vulnerable of society, our unborn children, and gets looked at so little in comparison.  And though it wasn't the focus of the interview I mentioned, I can't disagree with Luigi that Vice President Pence's speech definitely helped with the exposure that March for Life received overall this year.  Hopefully he, and other politicians he has inspired, while continue to address and draw further attention to the March.
