DameAgnes
Kind of a smackdown to bloggers and folks on social media. Do you agree? http://aleteia.org/2017/01/24/the-church-doesnt-need-our-opinion-she-needs-our-holiness/

Question: By what medium is her message spread? That is to say: She says, "It is doubtful that the Holy Spirit needs the voice of every Catholic with a blog and a Twitter account to set things straight.". Isn't this sentence on aleteia, which is of the same type of thing that she condemns?
DameAgnes
I don't think she's "condemning" because she is a blogger herself on patheos. I think she's talking about the sort of excessive opining that causes division among Catholics, when all the "opinions" in the world won't change the church, because it's not a democracy. Isn't this sentence on aleteia, which is of the same type of thing that she condemns? Lets not pretend that most Catholic bloggers and twitter users are actually 100% in line with the church. During the political season there were 2 well known blogger/Catholic personalities who went totally off.the.rails. which we spoke of on Phatmass. Even their actions were very derisive. I think that many, many bloggers have gone from simply sharing a theological gift that they were given to leveraging that gift to make political statements about the views of the church and even the direction the church should move in. Then while many declare they "don't care" how many people follow them they are deeply enmeshed with making sure they have followers to support them financially and otherwise. I think many of the big voices could use a big wake up call, I also think that many of those who follow popular bloggers also need to be reminded that bloggers --even priests, nuns and theologians--are not the church.
