I'm guessing the priest since that's the only topic addressed in this thread. Honestly praying hard for the pope. I have zero tolerance for this pedophile stuff. It's unacceptable. For the life of me I don't see what is so tough about making sure once a Priest GETS CAUGHT DOING THIS ONCE HE'S DONE!!!!!!! THAT'S IT!!!!!!! No second chances with warnings from the Pope to stay away from teenage boys. You're done. No longer in ministry. What is so tough about that? Why must there be all this secrecy and nonsense? The Church expects me to go to Confession for all these grave/mortal sins *INCLUDING masturbation. The Church expects me to Confess this every single time. To be 100 percent transparent with my shortcomings. With one's that are very tough to tell to a complete stranger. Yet it wants to be all secretive and sneaky when you have priests who molest kids and all this other junk. Just be straight up. Don't say zero tolerance then go and give guys like Mr.Inzoli his priestly duties back. I don't see how this is even a discussion. It's mind boggling. How many people have just straight up walked away from Catholicism because of it? Edited January 15, 2017 by Guest
CatherineM
If the Pope really reinstated a priest that he KNOWS committed a crime with a child (and if he did, why isn't he in jail), then I suspect he has fallen into the same trap that other bishops did 20+ years ago. Sometimes when you are confronted with something you can't imagine doing yourself, and experts tell you that rehabilitation is possible, you may believe it, or truly want to believe it. Guest
He is in jail now. And the Vatican wasn't forward and helpful with the information.
CatherineM
It's possible they haven't got any information to give. Criminals normally try to keep their crimes secret in order to get away with them. Unless you're dealing with idiots who tape their crimes to post on Facebook. This summer, civil authorities finished their own trial of Inzoli, convicting him of eight offenses. Another 15 lay beyond the statute of limitations. The Italian press hammered the Vatican, specifically the CDF, for not sharing the information they had found in their canonical trial with civil authorities. Of course, the pope himself could have allowed the CDF to share this information with civil authorities if he so desired.

I did a Google Translate of: "civil authorities finished their own trials" (as per your post) - it was an article in The Milano newspaper in Italian - but could not find your quotation above (that is if Google Translate was correct). I would like to be able to read the context of your post and identify the source, follow any links.

Guest
Thanks Josh. I knew I had read an article from John Allen Jnr of Crux recently sometime or other, I couldn't find the article I was after until I opened the link to This Week in your opening post just now, which linked to another article and by John Allen of Crux dated 8.12.16 (the article I had failed to find)- then roughly a month later (11.1.17)Allen publishes again in Crux, the article i posted earlier in another thread: HERE .......again commentary on Pope Francis and his style of leadership of The Church as our Holy Father. 3 hours ago, Josh said: God Bless all the good Priests. Yes, but the brother-deacons that come to my parish. We're a "training" parish for (not revealing because too many creepers) religious order all of our seminiarians are already brothers with perminate deaconate facilities. We have our pastor, associate pastor and then 2-6 brothers through out the year. The reason we have 2 priests is specifically so we can train more priests. We've had a few diocean seminiarians come through as a favor to the dioceses but they weren't brothers
