BeenaBobba
I think the Vatican should take over the whole world. Loraine Boettner says that the Jesuits are planning this. LOL. Just kidding, although he probably does say something along those lines. I think the Vatican is fine and dandy with the land it has now. I like the status quo. ICTHUS
I doubt he would even get to see it, someone else opens his mail. popestpiusx
I'd definitely be down with purchasing an all Catholic island and starting a new all Catholic civilization. That'd be very dope. Who says we need an island? Let's buy some land in central TX and build our own city.
Why not just take Texas itself. Secession. I'm all for it. Where do I sign?
Do you live in Texas? The attitude towards state pride is almost as big as national pride. For example, we say pledge to the Texas flag in schools "Honor the Texas flag, I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas One and Indivisible." A lot of ads and marketing here are also Texas-themed. "Texas-sized clearances." "Steaks the size of the Lone Star State." And don't forget that song that I can't get out of my head: "Ford is the best in Texas." I've taken 3 years of Texas history in school. Did you know that Texas used to be it's own country? We also have special Texan law enforcement: sheriffs, Texas highway patrol, Texas Rangers, etc. All in all, it's pretty ridiculous.
crusader1234
Sounds like Quebec... minus the actual reason for wanting to be different! One thing I cant stand is ethnocentricism.

For proof, I once heard that squirrel from Spongebob Squarepants say "How dare you take the name of Texas in vain!" (in a Texan accent, no less.) It doesn't help that I live in the Alamo City, either. The word "y'all" has infiltrated itself into my everyday vocabulary.
Sounds like a kind of Catholic Zionism!
