crusader1234
Do you think this is evil? My friend took a pointer (wooden school pointer thing) and broke it over a girls head (that means he hit her really hard) for saying "The Body of Christ tastes like [expletive deleted]". He doesn't think it is evil and I do. We want to know what you think.
azaelia
Ouch...that's hard. But then again what she said was pretty rude. But two wrongs don't make a right. Edited June 23, 2004 by azaelia
Thy Geekdom Come
Yes, it is evil. On evil does not excuse another.
crusader1234
And I mean, thats sort of hypocritical, hitting someone for being unchristian and rude
daugher-of-Mary
Woah. Somebody around here has "diss me and I'll get over it, diss the Eucharist and I take up my sword" in their sig. That might be an appropriate motto for your friend!
BeenaBobba
I can understand why he'd be upset, as dissing the Body of Christ is beyond wrong. On the other hand, I don't think your friend was right in acting out violently against that girl. Violence done not out of self-defense is wrong. Plus, I don't think your friend, a guy, should be hitting girls. That's just wrong. God bless, Jen
Thy Geekdom Come
Crusader, you and I agree for once. Take it as a sign. The kid who was so irreverent committed a terrible sin, but it is not the right of a person to seek vengeance, even for God. That is why the Church only approves of the death penalty for the purposes of keeping the public safe. If we seek vengeance on the sinner, then we seek vengeance on ourselves. Crusader_4
I dunno i was present at the situation and it was not like it was a hard pointer thing it was really like one that pulls out of a pen....and she wasnt hurt by it. So its a tuff call although i do agree that perhaps it was not the best course of action.
crusader1234
I don't think its a tough call... I think it was "Jim" doing something evil to "Sally" for doing something evil to "John". Thats revenge, which is evil. Edited June 23, 2004 by crusader1234
BeenaBobba
If we seek vengeance on the sinner, then we seek vengeance on ourselves.
So true, Raph. God bless, Jen
Philippe
wats wrong with saying it taste's bad... its not about the taste of the Eucharist thats important, its about the miracle there!
Crusader_4
Yes but when one mentions the "Body of Christ".....its not techinically referring to the wafer anymore.
Iacobus
It would tick me off. And I would probly tackle her and hurt her. LOL! So I am just glad I wasn't there.
crusader1234
You dont need to use expletives to express taste - the Body of Christ probably does taste bad in some cases like where it became the cross section of the heart and the physical blood - however again it doesnt justify violence. WWJD? definately not that
jasJis
It was wrong for him to hit the girl. Calling it evil is something else. Evil implies intent for evil, which means that the guy intended to do wrong. I really don't think that was his intent, but it doesn't make it right. Wrong yes. Evil no.
