Video: "Mean Priest Gives Rough Blessing"

A friend emailed me this article and video:

It certainly is a very rough blessing, although I tend to think he is joking around with them..........quite roughly.

I'm sorry BarbaraTherese, but I have to disagree with you. I don't care if it was a joke. This is supposed to be one of the most beautiful days of their life - recieving Jesus, present in the Eucharist, for their first time. It's disgraceful that someone, priests included, would tease/ridicule these children and call it a joke. 

I feel sorry for this poor priest because he really doesn't know what he is doing. We need to pray for him and for all priests that their faith may not be lost and that their love for the Eucharist and God's people increases.

I sense this priest was abused himself in his youth. Hurt people hurt people. I was ridiculed by a priest many times in public as a teenager. It took many years to heal from that wound. But, I realized he was severely wounded himself. May these children forgive quickly and not have scarring memories on what's supposed to be one of the best days of their lives.
