Student Assistant

My student assistant received a call this morning from family members letting her know that her Grandfather died.  This, of course, did not go well for her and she broke down here in our office.  It was totally unexpected.  He was not sick or anything.  

This student of mine is quite extraordinary.  She is always pleasant, cordial and genuinely loving.  She's a very hard worker, and I don't think I could get my job done without her.  She makes me laugh, because, although she's not religious and counts herself among Agnostics, we can have the most beautiful conversations about religion.  When I'm down, she'll tell me, "I'll pray to Jesus for you.  Not Buddha, or Zeus, or the myriad of others out there, I'll make sure just to mention this to Jesus."    She's so funny!

 

Please say a little prayer for her in this tough time, and pray for the repose of the soul of her Grandfather.
