Luigi
I have a friend named Maggie. She has a cousin named Diane. Diane has a friend who was given the Great Preacher Award by the Central Province Dominicans. Diane took my friend Maggie to the award dinner. Maggie was telling me she met this one and that one, and "some French guy named Fr. Bruno - I think he's the new provincial." I said,"Fr. Bruno Cadore?" She said, "Yeah, that's it!" I told her, "He's not the new provincial - he's the Master General of the whole order, worldwide!" Two degrees of separation from the Master General of the Order of Preachers. Who'd a thunk it? My friend Maggie's cousin's friend got the award - Maggie was invited along by a sort of friend-in-common to fill out the table at the dinner. And actually, Maggie had known and helped Fr. Charlie Bouchard, OP catalog a bunch of artwork some years ago; he has a sister named Maggie - also a redhead - so he always remembered my friend's name and thought well of her. Then some time after she had volunteered, he became provincial; even though he is no longer serving as provincial, she still thinks of him as the 'real' provincial. But right! My sentiments exactly - the Master of the Order trumps a previous provincial any day of the week!

Luigi
I guess I could map it out, but there wouldn't be much benefit in that. The point is that I know someone who met and spoke with the Master General.
NadaTeTurbe
Oh, I can play this too ! With the Master General of the OP ! So, I have a friend named A. She lives next to a community part of the dominican family. One day, the Master of the Order (I think it was Carlos Costa) came to visit the community, and gave them a statue of our Lady. To thank them for their help, the little brothers gave the statue to A.. When the master came back, he asked where the statue was, and the little brothers took him to my friend's house when they were here
