Death of a relative

One of my mom's cousin died this night. It's a surprise. Nobody expected it. We were very close, he was the sweetest man you could imagine. 
He was a cook who worked for star, politician, etc... and cooked twice for Saint John Paul II. Although he wasn't a believer, he was impressed by this meeting, and when he had a heart operation ten years ago, he said that Saint John Paul II protected him. 
Please pray for his soul, for our family who is devastated to learn that. I can't really understand he's dead.
