Socrates
On 10/3/2016 at 1:07 AM, Peace said: I am wondering, when black people die or are oppressed, do they make it into your tally? Just as many if not more people were killed in the Congo as in the Holocaust, for example. No, of course not, since I'm an Evil Conservative, and Black Lives don't Matter. Jk. Still, the number killed in those massacres and the Nazi Holocaust combined is still less than the approximately 90 million murdered worldwide under Marxist Socialist (Communist) regimes. http://reason.com/blog/2013/03/13/communism-killed-94m-in-20th-century Quote Well. Either that or I have taken a basic course in statistical analysis. You are not even asking the right question. The authors of the website are not a socialistic regime. They are a few dumb kids who advocate socialsm. My assertion was that it is not fair to accuse the authors of the website as being more likely to kill simply because of their personal political beliefs. That is like saying that Bernie is more likely to kill than Trump simply because he is a liberal. If you want to know whether a personal belief in socialsm or capitalism makes an individual more or less likely to be violent, you need to be looking at an entirely different set of data, rather than by comparing death tolls of political regimes. But you can think through that for yourself. Maybe you should also take a good course in the history of Communism, because then you'd understand that it's not mere coincidence that Marxist regimes have committed such an outsize share of murder and atrocities, but these stem from its radical ideology, which believes in tearing down all of existing society. I never claimed that the authors of that site are personally violent or likely to commit violence themselves. (And I'm not sure that anyone else has, though I haven't read through the entirety of the exchange between you and KoC.) I was talking about actual socialist regimes in power. You seemed to be saying there was not an actual connection between Marxist ideology and the violence of Marxist governments. My apologies if I misunderstood. Though large numbers of stupid people can get evil regimes into power. Most American supporters of socialism are idiots who deludedly think socialism is all about peace'n'luv. The manifesto is meant as an opening statement, not a full argument, and I know there's much it leaves unexplained. What I want to know, Comrade, is what concrete steps your holy politboro would take to deal with the urgent and pressing issue of transphobia in our society. (I myself suffer from this terrible malady, living each day in mortal terror of transvestites, yet my government does little to help me.) Also, what will it do to eradicate acrophobia, agoraphobia, arachnophobia, coulrophobia, and phobophobia? So many horrible phobias plaguing our population, yet so little meaningful government action to stamp them out! On 10/3/2016 at 6:46 AM, MIKolbe said: you call it a manifesto? Why? Because "Manifesto" goes so well with "Communist."

I thought they both fell under the "trans" grouping, though I admit I'm not that hip to the latest LGB-whatever nomenclature. Seriously though, it's dubious most bleedin' hearts understand the difference between a genuine phobia and "any objection to or disagreement with my own left-wing social-political agenda." And phobias are largely uncontrollable mental conditions best dealt with by a psychologist or such, not crimes to be stamped out by force of law or government action.
