Gabriela
I'm going through my interview data (recruitment is now closed—thanks everyone who helped! ) and some of these priests said really great things, like: "Negative feelings about preaching? Yeah, I have negative feelings about preaching. When I'm listening to other people preach and I wanna punch them in the face." "I know the Holy Spirit is working when things go suspiciously well." I'll post more as I come across them (again).

Nihil Obstat
My priest had a walkout the other day as he talked about how participating in non Catholic religious services is mortally sinful.

I mean, you know that traditionalists have the stereotype of being mean/sanctimonious/rigid, whether fair or unfair, pairing a smiley face with the concept of mortal sin is really off-putting. As is the "joy in truth" line. IMHO mortal sin and damnation are somber realities and nothing to smile over. But I mean don't let me clip your wings man. You are missing a critical distinction, between knowledge of the moral law, and failure to uphold it. The loss of a single soul is a tragedy, especially when those souls are misled by heresy. More tragic still when that heresy comes from the mouths of those who lead others in the practice of religion. Our God died for these people, yet they reject His love and His suffering. On the other hand, knowledge of the moral law is a treasure of inestimable value. It is among the greatest gifts God has given us. He tells us clearly, through the Church and through His priests, how best to serve Him. That is the joy of truth. In the future I would appreciate that you not make such negative assumptions about me. 2 minutes ago, Peace said: When he comes on the forum and asserts that the statement is the truth, as you did, I will be happy to take it up with him. KnightofChrist
Triggered by a smiley face. 6 minutes ago, Peace said: When he comes on the forum and asserts that the statement is the truth, as you did, I will be happy to take it up with him. That would at least give you one more person to complain to other than Soc, Nihil and I.
