Thy Geekdom Come
That is so sad. One of the things that angers me the most is the notion he mentioned that men shouldn't be able to discuss the matter, as if we aren't involved. Of course, we know that men have half the involvement in any child. We also know that men are as capable of knowing the facts, if not the feelings, behind abortion. We also know that men could arguably be more capable of making the decision rationally, as they are not as emotionally invested. I have serious problems with abortion. I do think it is the greatest single evil in the world. Sadly, most of the "pro-choicers" I know are as militant about it as this woman, and would tell me that the world would be a better place if I were aborted. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. Lil Red
what a sad thing. Our Lady of Guadelupe, we pray for that woman, and all women with such sad views, that they are exposed to your love, and love for all babies and all women.
Pio Nono
JMJ 6/22 - Twelfth Tuesday With what work I've done in the pro-life movement, combined with similar situations I've encountered with similarly-minded women, this lady is probably full of bottled-up pain due to a bad encounter she has had with the abortion industry...perhaps she's even had a past abortion herself for which she still hurts... Pray for these women.
1337 k4th0l1x0r
Some of these militant pro-abortion supporters would do well to look at my sig. Many of the fortunate ones who were spared the massacre want to make sure the killing continues.
Paladin D
The infamous line that comes out from a pro-abortionist's mouths: "Men do not have a say" is one of the most ridiculous excuses I've ever heard. If it wasn't for our seed, you wouldn't have babies in the first place, therefore we have every right to voice our opinion on the matter. If you can't stay away from our peckers (unless it was rape), then thats your problem.

musturde
Well, knowing that it is an issue and he gave a Catholic view on it, he did nothing wrong. She should have known what she was coming for going to a Catholic school. We should get this guy on here. btw: "Ladies & Gentlemen, a big hand for the Episcopalians! 'Giving people what they want and ignoring God's will since 1776!'" <-- http://credibility.blogspot.com/2004/06/ep...ge-liturgy.html
mamalove
There is good news in this story. The teacher had the full support of the school and took the appropriate actions after the incident. Too many Catholic schools would just try to please the parent by disciplining the teacher, or telling the teacher not to bring up the topic anyway. If this was going to happen in a school, a Catholic school like this one is the best place. My sister teaches at a large Catholic school and they are not allowed to use the word abortion because some parents find it offensive and inappropriate. Go figure. BeenaBobba
That's such a crock that that girl's mom lambasted that poor teacher! For one, that teacher has every right to speak about the evils of abortion in a history class, a history class at a Catholic school, no less. We always used to talk about social issues in my high school history classes, and I went to a public high school. I hate when some pro-"choicers" imply that men can't have any say on the topic. I find it hypocritical, as they rarely (if ever) have a problem with pro-"choice" men. It's absurd, too. Imagine someone saying, "You can't oppose slavery because you never owned a slave." Or, imagine them saying, "You can't oppose male homosexual jail rapings because you're a girl." Still yet, imagine someone saying, "You can't oppose me beating my wife because you're a man and she's a woman. So, who are you to speak out against beating women?" That girl's mom could have been arrested for threatening that teacher like that, actually. But, that girl obviously brought the discussion home to her mom, so she must have thought it important enough to speak about. That's a good thing, as it must have got her thinking. God bless, Jennifer
