I was somewhat familiar with him through Fr. Amorth's books. I had visited Rome some years ago and, as one does, visited the Santa Scala at the Church of the Holy Staircase. Only afterwards did I learn that this was the church from which Fr. Amantini did most of his work. I wonder if perhaps Fr. Amorth was nearby when I visited.
