me neither

it seems clear to me that all parishes are supposed to, though.

Hmm, how about ending it with a passage from one of the ends of the letters in the Bible, Ephesians 6:24 say?

Edit: the end of 1 Thessalonians might be better it's actually in second rather than third person:

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

i'll probably add a few things in there like that. good suggestion.

i went through a phase where i tried to write letters like the Bible letter writers, and i would roll em up in scrolls and give em to my friends. it was cool

Thy Geekdom Come
to be an acolyte in the United States you must be at least 21 years old.
Unless you're in a seminary.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The communion plate IS a decision by the bishops of each individual diocease. Our dioscease is not required, but some parishes do it anyway. The reason is because a lot of parishes do not have enough alter boys to use communion plates.

except the newest document from Rome says everyone has to use it. Redemptionis Sacramentum is for everyone, no dissenting, effective immediately, it said.

To clarify, "acolyte" was one of the seven "minor orders". Seminarians went through them before being ordained. I don't know if it is practiced today.

Raphael tried out seminary once, if i'm not mistaken, so i'll believe him.

acolyte is a permanent stable ministry now, though. it should be used as such and all these extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion should stop acting as if they're ordinary, IMHO

First off......you are brave, and probably young. I, on the other hand am meek with age and spend most of my time just wincing and praying in the pew over liturgical abuse issues.

Your points appear correct..... but c'mon, Eucharistic Plateholders? Consoloation prizes for poor liturgical conduct? If the plates return, I hate to tell the so called "Eucharistic Ministers"........Altar Servers already took that job a long time ago.
