Clare~Therese
Recently I was reading Acts 20 (NAB). In this chapter, St. Paul says that the Holy Spirit is "compell[ing]" him to go to Jerusalem (20:22) but later on (Acts 21:4) Christian people are telling him "through the Spirit" to not go to Jerusalem. Of course we know that God does not contradict Himself, He does not deceive anyone, and He does not tempt people. So what's going on here?

So first God says go, then He says don't go. What's the problem?
