I've heard all of the above songs...but my fave is Missa de Angelis with organ accompaniment. The Kyrie is magnificent!
yea that song is pretty tight.....i also like "Lord of the Dance"..we sung it at Easter one year and i havent heard it since
LOL...that reminds me of one of the last days of seminary. We sang "Lord of the Dance" at some prayer service (I can't remember what) and the pianist accidentally played it too slowly, so the people were trying to sing it quickly and rhythmically and we had to keep stoping for him to catch up...it was so bad...

"I danced for the scribe and the pharisee, but they would not dance and they wouldn't follow me..."

"Dance then, wherever you may be! 'I am the Lord of the Dance,' said He, 'and I'll lead you all, wherever you may be; and I'll lead you all in the dance,' said He."

I love that song!! I have a cd w/ it on it and the guy who sings it has one of the best voices ever! He also sings Hail Holy Queen, and Be Not Afraid.

Ok, I'm retyping this, my first reply got eaten!

An interesting tidbit about "Lord of the Dance" (incidentally one of moi's favs too) is that it is set to an Aaron Copeland tune...I'm blanking on the name, but it was part of a Graham ballet, Appalachian (sp?) Spring. I want to say it's called "Simple Things" "...'tis a gift to be simple 'tis a gift to be free" In fact the more I think about it perhaps Copeland lifted it out of an old hymnal?

Hmmm, my memory fails me at the moment!

ANyone know?

Actually, it's an old Shaker song entitled "'Tis a Joy to be Simple", but the tune is originally an old Irish tune.
