Only by the grace of God. My sister's vocation story.

 Hey Pham,

I meant to share this earlier. This article appeared in Crux a few weeks ago and it outlines the vocation story of my sister, a solemnly professed Sister of Life.

This is a lovely article. Thank-you.

Since the article talked about the events of 9/11, I wanted to remind VS members to please continue their prayers for one of our own VS members who is a nun. She is also a doctor (or maybe a physician's assistant--not sure) and was one of the "first responders" to the towers. The first responders did not have protective gear, but, ignoring their own safety, tried to help as many people as possible. A large number of first responders have become very ill since 9/11, and many have died, due to the toxic conditions they worked in. This VS member has been very ill for a number of years now, but handles her illness and pain in a way that makes me ashamed of my own "whining." Please continue to pray for her health.

Note: I have not given the nun's name because I have never seen her post about this in VS. She still posts, but rarely, as her health has gotten worse. Still, I suspect that many of you who have been a member of VS for more than a year or two--especially those who have been members for more than 5 or 6 years will know who she is. Even though she doesn't post much, I still remember her in my prayers, since she is one of the "anonymous saints" who will likely never be recognized by the public or the Vatican, but whom I am personally convinced will go straight to heaven. (I expect she would disagree, such is her humility.)

Thank you everybody.  I'm inspired all over again every time I read that piece.  By the way, many of you (if you joined the forum after 2006) may not know that my sister (hdogga) posted a few times on PM--- often asking for prayers on my behalf when I was going through some health troubles.
